Personal Information

My husband Bo, and I live in Hot Springs Village, Arkansas, a large retirement community. Together we have 4 children and 6 grandchildren. We attend a wonderful Episcopal Church, Holy Trinity, and it is central to our lives.

My first real involvement with ECW was as President at Holy Trinity. One of the ECW members, Daisy Foote, was working on the slate of officers and told me if I would agree to be President she would help me. Looking back, I expect I wasn’t the first person on Daisy’s list but I accepted the challenge and Daisy helped me and continues to help me even though she has now relocated to northern Arkansas. When Daisy read the Communiqué about my nomination as Treasurer she let me know I was in her prayers. That’s an example of what Episcopal Church Women do. We work together, play together, and pray together.

Women working together to accomplish our mission ... that Community is as important at the local level as it is at the Diocesan, Province, and National level. My job as your Treasurer is to make sure the money you, and others before you, have entrusted to us over the years is used as intended, to accomplish our mission at the National level.

That mission is primarily to insure the Triennial Meeting continues. One of the most important features of Triennial Meeting is the workshop opportunities. Many of you bring those workshops to your own Dioceses. Each time this happens our community grows and the value of Triennial Meeting is enhanced by the educational opportunities we share.

We also share opportunities such as the Jericho Road Housing Initiative. Many of you have contributed personally and through your diocesan ECW and that effort continues until November 2010. I look forward to announcing we have reached the goal of raising $110,000 for Jericho Road during 2010.

Thank you for allowing me to serve as Treasurer. I am looking forward to being with you in Indianapolis in 2012.
